|
The new Constitution means that the Union has adopted a governance structure in line with the requirements of the Charities Act 2006 and the Charity Commission. One major change to the current situation is that a Trustee Board has been set up. This body will meet no less than 4 times per year (and is unlikely to be required to meet more than 6 times). It is responsible for overseeing the management and administration of the Union and takes ultimate responsibility for such things as governance, Union finances, strategic direction, charity law and other legal requirements, as well as the Union’s reputation. The membership of the Board will be the 3 full-time Student Officers, 3 Student Trustees and 3 Independent Trustees. More information on Being a Trustee can be found here. To find out who can be a candidate, click here. If you are interested in running for one of the student trustee positions, you will need to be able to commit to the basic requirements. If you are elected to a post within the Union, you will be receive a comprehensive support and development package. |
