All students at Brookes have a vote in the elections. There are no special requirements and you don’t have to have registered as a member. You can vote for the President and both of the full time Vice Presidents. You can also vote to decide who should represent your interests at the NUS Annual Conference. |
| International Students |
|
International students often have a different student experience from that of a home student. There is an officer who is there to represent your interests on the Executive Committee. All International students can vote for the International Students’ Officer, as well as voting for the full time posts. |
| Women Students |
|
There is an officer who is there to represent the specific interests of women students. All women students can vote for the Women’s Officer, as well as voting for the full time posts. |
| Ethnic Minorities Officer |
|
The Ethnic Minorities Officer is there to represent the views and interests of all students who come from an ethnic minority. All students who are from an ethnic minority can vote for this officer, as well as voting for the full time posts. |
| Disabled Students’ Officer |
|
Students with a disability often have specific needs. The Disabled Students’ Officer is there to represent the views and needs of disabled students. |
| Mature Students |
|
The experience of studying as a mature student is often different to that of a younger student. Whether you are full time or part time, undergraduate or post graduate, the Mature Students’ Officer is there to make sure that your views are articulated within the Union and represented to the University. |
| LGBT |
|
Students who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender often find University a difficult time. The LGBT officer is there to support you, and make sure that your voice is heard within the Union and with the University. |
