| Vice President: Student Experience |
| Main purpose of post |
- To represent the interests of the membership within the University and the wider community, in all Academic matters.
- To work with the President and other Vice Presidents to provide political leadership for the Students’ Union.

| Main Duties |
- Be a Trustee of the Union and attend all meetings of Trustees.
- Attend all meetings of the Students’ Council.
- Attend all meetings of members.
- Promote student representation and participation in the Union and University;
- Promote student activities and development;
- Actively promote equal opportunities in the Union and work to eradicate all forms of harassment, discrimination, intimidation and oppression;
- Organise relevant events and campaigns
- Sit on University committees as agreed internally to ensure adequate student representation;
- Sit on Union committees and working groups as appropriate
- Chair Union committees and working groups as appropriate
- Liaise with members of The Union and University and ensure effective communication;
- Attend appropriate meetings and conferences and report back to Union Council and the membership.
- Be responsible for any policy and representation relating to the student experience
- Ensure that all affiliated Societies act in accordance with the Union’s constitution and policies
- Be responsible for overseeing societies’ budgets, and have the authority to freeze individual budgets in accordance with the Union’s procedures;
- Convene and Chair meetings of Societies’ Council
- Facilitate the promotion and support of all affiliated societies and ensure appropriate training of Society Committee Members;
- Work with, promote, and oversee the strategic development of student volunteering within the Union, the University, and the local community;
- Be responsible for any policy and representation relating to Union transport and issues around student transport, including the Safety Buses and local bus companies;
- Be responsible for any policy relating to student welfare matters and campaign as appropriate
- Be responsible for Students’ Union services to students housed in halls of residence;
- Be responsible for overseeing Hall Committee budgets and have the authority to freeze individual budgets in accordance with the Union’s procedures;
- Convene but not Chair meetings of Halls’ Council
- Oversee and co-ordinate the work of all Hall Presidents, and assist where necessary with the running of all aspects of Halls Committees
- Work with, promote, and oversee the strategic development of all student services that relate to Welfare and Advice;
- Oversee and co-ordinate the work of student volunteers within Student Welfare areas of the Union

| In carrying out these duties, the post-holder must: |
- Make themselves aware of the Union’s constitution and current policies;
- Take all reasonable steps to ensure that the Union’s constitution and policies, together with all relevant legislation are upheld in all the Union’s activities;
- Comply with all elements of the Union’s financial regulations
